Timberland Heights, Havila enrich environment with greening drives
Breathtaking Timberland Heights and Havila in Rizal represent more than the ultimate in mountain suburban living. Closeness to nature inspires homeowners in these master-planned and self-contained townships of Filinvest Land to love and care for the environment. To preserve and enrich the landscape and surrounding forest for themselves and future generations to enjoy, the homeowners participate in tree-planting activities supported by Filinvest Land.
Timberland Heights: An Eco-Sanctuary
Timberland Heights, a 677-hectare township project minutes away from Batasang Pambansa, has more trees than ever. Thanks to the continuing tree-planting activities of volunteers and representatives of different local government units, non-government organizations, schools and corporations. Last year, 3,500 trees were added to Timberland Heights, bringing to over 14,000 the number of trees planted as of the end of 2011.
In line with its conservation advocacy, Filinvest Land also leaves certain areas of its township projects untouched by human development. “As a premier suburban town cradled by hills and mountains of San Mateo, Rizal, Timberland Heights places great value and exerts much effort in maintaining an ecologically stable natural environment within its communities,” said Filinvest Land First Vice President Francis V. Ceballos.
Timberland Heights carefully laid out environmentally friendly components for homeowners such as training sessions on verme composting and rehabilitation and preservation of natural sites covering the township’s 80-hectare Greenways. “These enhancing and preventive measures are especially important for the mountain’s soil stability, keeping them ensured of the long term and providing ecological benefits to the community,” Ceballos said.
Timberland Heights is composed of the themed communities of Banyan Crest, Banyan Ridge, The Ranch, Mandala I, Mandala II and the Timberland Sports and Nature Club. The Asian-inspired Banyan Crest and Banyan Ridge offer panoramic views of San Mateo. High up on the mountains, The Ranch enables residents to enjoy the cool, fresh breeze plus a picturesque view of Laguna de Bay and the Sierra Madre mountain range.
In the biggest themed community at Timberland Heights, the Mandala Residential Farm Estates, residents can enjoy the idyllic farming lifestyle as 80 percent of the land here will be dedicated to farming activities. Also atop one of the highest points of Timberland Heights, the first-rate, private membership Timberland Sports and Nature Club offers the mountain resort atmosphere and experience, plus a wide range of activities and amenities for members and their families. Half of the entire Timberland Heights estate is dedicated to open spaces, including the Greenways that feature a variety of nature and recreation nodes such as theme parks, lagoons, camp grounds, and horse and bike trails.
Havila: Embraced by Mother Earth
In Havila, a 300-hectare township that spans Angono and Taytay towns as well as Antipolo City, more than 60 families comprising of Filinvest employees, property sellers and residents went to Villa Montserrat and Havila Drive last May 19 to plant 150 acacia and marigold trees propagated at Timberland Heights. During the event, Barangay San Juan in Antipolo awarded Filinvest with a certificate praising its advocacy of greening the environment. "Filinvest is committed in its role in preserving Mother Earth so that in our own small way we can have a cleaner, greener environment for future generations," Ceballos said during the awarding ceremony. The Havila tree-planting also generated almost P50,000 in cash as donation to Fr. Uldarico Dioquino's "Kanlungan ni Maria" foundation.
The Havila’s themed residential communities are the 56-hectare Highlands Pointe, the 31-hectare Forest Farms, the 7.2-hectare Villa Montserrat and the 92-hectare Mission Hills. Perched on the hills of Taytay, Highlands Pointe provides residents with marvelous vistas of the Makati and Ortigas skylines as well as the lush landscapes of Laguna de Bay. Forest Farms in Angono features centuries-old trees and natural slopes.
